Williamtown is located north of Newcastle and has the RAAF and a recently expanded passenger terminal.



For the scanner listener there is a beautiful spot under a runway to sit listen and watch the jets take off and land.

Here is a list of the main frequencies used by aircraft and Air Traffic Control at Sydney Airport. If you have a scanner or suitable radio, and don't live too far from the airport, you will be able to listen to most of these by tuning them in.
